Auckland Section Instruction Courses
Whether you're a beginner at rock-climbing or mountaineering, or already know something but would like to improve your skills, keep an eye on this page for upcoming snowcraft and rock-climbing instruction courses run by the Auckland Section.
If you already have the basics under your belt and some experience in leading alpine or rock-climbing trips and would like to become one of the club instructors, please contact the Instruction Organiser to put your name forward. We are always looking to upskill our members and train new instructors to help spread the knowledge.
Snowcraft Instruction
Like the mountains but don't know how to get to the top, other than taking a helicopter? Ever wanted to sleep in a snow cave? Maybe you enjoy rock-climbing and would like to try some alpine rock routes? Or perhaps you're interested in extending your tramping skills into high alpine passes? If you've answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then maybe the Auckland Section Snowcraft Course is for you.
Rock Climbing Instruction
We offer beginner and intermediate rock-climbing instruction, from 1-day starter courses to weekend instruction trips, usually around March/April and October/November each year. For more information, see the Rock Courses page.
