“The dream is simple. To travel free and fast in the snowy mountains. Not to be a beast of burden to heavy gear. To feel freedom, joy, and to travel with a light heart where your spirit knows of no boundaries. Every peak is easily ascended and the down hills are enjoyed with bounty.”
Adventurer Erik Bradshaw will be with us to discuss his completion of the first ski traverse of the Southern Alps. With 800kms of snowy ridges, glaciers and plateaus, he skied along the spine of the South Island.
To complete this journey Erik invented ski equipment including a unique exoskeleton binding that fits over a walking boot to transform it into a ski boot with crampons - a ski mountaineer's dream!
With the earlier start time of 7pm, a light christmas dinner of ham on the bone will be served with warm bread rolls, mixed leaf salad. Only $10 on the door.
We look forward to seeing you there
