It is so light (~65g) you might forget it is there, But do take it out:

• Sitting on, to prevent a frozen behind, whether looking at the view or sheltering in a bothy bag.

• Snow camping or planned bivvies. Put it under your expensive inflatable mat, to protect it from rocks or to increase the warmth of your sleeping system.

This 4mm closed cell foam mat will fit most packs used for alpine adventures.
